Wolfgang: Mata ng Diyos

Wolfgang is Wolfgang. Not an imitation of other bands but simply one of the best Hard rock bands in the Philippines which introduced the head banging, rock-defying, and solid drum beats in the country.

This song   Mata ng Diyos (The Eye of God)  is about a man's wish to escape the judgmental  eyes of the society. The wish to have start a new and no longer be under the eyes of  "God".

Mata ng Diyos
(Eye of God)

Sa pag mulat ng aking mata
Ako'y ginising ng ihip ng hangin
Ang sikat ng araw, makulay

Sa tabi ng ilog
Parang may tumatawag, pabulong
Ako'y lumapit sa puno'y may natanaw
Dumilim ang araw

Bumigat bigla ang aking dibdib
Tibok ng puso'y bumilis
Ako'y hindi mapakali, ako'y naduduwag
Sa pagtitig ng kanyang mata
Ako'y kanyang hinusgahan
Ligaya kong naramdaman

Bato, bundok at puno man
Sumisigaw, sumisigaw...

At ngayon ko nakikita
Ang lahat ng kasalanan, tinaboy sa ulan
Init at kamunduhan

Tumakbo, lumayo sa lugar na 'to
Lalamunan ko'y tuyung-tuyo
Tumakbo, lumayo at magtago
Sa mata ng Diyos

Mata ng Diyos...

Inalok ako ng isang ahas
Pula't matamis na mansanas
Pilit ko man hindi makaiwas
Sa mata ng Diyos

The all-English version of Semenelin was released in the United States on March 1997.

Semenelin was named Album of the Year at the 1996 NU107 Rock Awards, where Basti Artadi won Vocalist of the Year, Wolf Gemora took the Drummer of the Year award, Mon Legaspi took the Bassist of the Year award, and the band was named Artist of the Year and Best Live Performer.

What Grows in Your Garden

Well now the rain washed back yesterday
Bringing thoughts of wasted time
And the water it brought
Flowed swiftly through your mind
Opening your eyes to the stars just to pray
Hoping more rain will wash your garden away
But your flowers just bloom
Ever bright ever proud
Screaming I hate you so loud
Sister! sister tell me will you ever bow
To what grows in your garden now
Yes the weeds of consequence get more day by day
Of decisions you have better made
Paper flowers sparkle by an old tree butt
Just remember even paper flowers cut
Your garden shakes with the wind
But it will not fall down
Scattering seeds all around
Somewhere on the landscape lies
A place next to your heart
But the grass grows wide and even
And soon that too will be torn apart
Over bounds sprinkling seeds to the ground.

Wolfgang: Cast of Clowns

During the 1995 NU 107 Rock Awards, the country's premier rock awards show, Artadi was nominated for Vocalist of the Year, Gemora for Drummer of the Year, and Legarda for Guitarist of the Year. The band was nominated for Artist of the Year and Best Live Act. Legarda was named co-winner for Guitarist of the Year.

The song Cast of Clowns is one of their creation which helped them capture the audience approval and skyrocketed them to fame in the country.

Cast of Clowns

Father, I know your life's been stretched too long
Across paper torn and crumpled
Was drawn the garden that we've sown
You made So damn happy
Wanting to fallow you around
But leading a cast of clowns
How could you expect me
To worship your name
Father, I know now
It's etched too deep in sand
I'm sorry...so so sorry
I couldn't wipe it with my hands
You made me, you made me
You made me so Unhappy
You made the sky come down
Father, I smile
Wings have stretched to the sky
When i look up at the heavens
I'll see your face in the stars at night
Again you made happy!
The stage has been turned down
The clowns have lost their crowd
Now just sleep well and sound
Quietly rest...

Wolfgang: Left Alone

Another song from their album Acoustica which was their first live album.

Left alone

(Vocals - BASTI)
Crippled now my hands
As my days fade away
Once i lived a colored life
It quickly turned to grey
No matter now how hard i try
Nothing stays the same
Maybe it would be better left alone
Idiot!
Spinning round and around
As my hands leave my side
I know that i've got a choice
Though it's dampened by my pride
All the days I couldn't count
And life passed me by
I should just leave this alone
My eyes roll back in my head
So i can see my mind
The cuts I got will heal you see
But the scars just swell with time
And we rise to our occasions
Detered by our shame
Blinded by our stupid visions
Just too great to obtain
They're to great to obtain
Idiot!!!

Wolfgang: Darkness Fell

As part of the preparation for their debut album, Wolfgang submitted demos of two original compositions, "Darkness Fell" and "Left Alone", to local radio stations DWRT 99.5 and DWLA 105.9 in 1994, which generated many listener requests. The band signed with Tone Def, the rock label of local independent Ivory Records. Wolfgang released its first album, the eponymous Wolfgang, in 1995. The band flexed their artistic skills recording the album, with Basti Artadi responsible for the cover art, rendering caricatures of himself and the other band members amidst earthy symbols, beer bottles and cigarettes, and Manuel Legarda using an electric fan to simulate an effect he had in mind for the song “Cast of Clowns”. Wolfgang went Platinum in less than a year. Their songs experienced regular airplay in both DWLA 105.9 and DWNU 107.5.

Darkness Fell

And so she woke up from a dream
That was beautiful starry and so wild
It was all still clear in her eyes
And though her mind was foggy
And blank she wondered why
Her life couldn't be as lovely
It was time...
There was this king he had no castle or throne
But his horse was great and white
He rode alone and liked it that way
But when he met her he swore
He would never leave her side...
They rode across the land
Two lovers hand in hand
And no danger could come near
And when something made her cry
She'd look at him teary eyed
And he would make her feel better
Oh so much better so much better than before
And now this forest was their home
It was a night time
And the right time for love
In the dark
She placed her hand upon his chest
And all the rest just flowed
Makin' love down under an ancient far away night
It was so grand just holdin' someone's hand
And now safety came naturally
It was so clear that she would never
Ever have to fear
Oh tell me a story of magic and spiralling ships
And stars in the night
Just whisper in my ears
Make it soft but make it clear
I want to hear every breath you say
He placed his hand upon her breast
But she woke up from the land
Tears falling in her hands
As she looked up askin' why
She laid back in her bed
Thoughts raising in her head
Why can't my life be beautiful she said
As she closed her eyes again
Just prayin' he'd return
But only Darkness Fell upon her...

Wolfgang: Arise

Arise from their album with Acoustica which Halik ni Judas (Judas' Kiss) was also included. This was released in 2000 which is also the first live performance album of the band.

Arise

I am the night
I am the day
I am the light gone astray
The fear that's in your bones
That is I, I am the taker of souls
Shout, my name at the heavens
And be cast to fire
Hold my hand
As we roam with the pack
'Cause is evil is our lair
'Cause is evil is our lair
Sentinels of pain
On their mission once again
He end, them out to roam
Half dog men and their knives
Haunting your lives
Pray, it's good to pray
In our masses we shall say
He is no more and will be dead
Though he is laughing
Beside you instead
I am the king
I need no queens nor friends
You bow before me because
Blood is my feast
And fear is my staff
And i will come to take you and yours away
Listen! to me my child
I'll feed your body
Free your mind
Come closer if you dare
To this manner of beast
'Cause is evil is our lair
'Cause is evil is our lair
'Cause is evil is our lair
'Cause is evil is our lair

Wolfgang: Natutulog kong Mundo

The original members of the band is Basti Artadi, Wolf Gemora, Maneul Legarda, and Mon Legaspi. LAter Wolf Gemora had leave the band and was replaced by Francis Aquino. Vocalist Basti Artadi (born Sebastian Artadi) and drummer Wolf Gemora (born Leslie Gemora) began their musical careers with other local bands, while guitarist Manuel Legarda returned to the Philippines from living abroad in Spain. Gemora was inspired to form a band upon frequenting shows of another notable Filipino group, Razorback. He invited Legarda to join him and eventually the two found Basti Artadi singing with his former band, Sin City. Upon Legarda's invitation, Artadi joined the duo. In the first few months of inception, the group went through a number of bass players. They eventually met Mon Legaspi (who was recommended by Rizal Underground bassist, Angelo Villegas) who became their permanent bassist. They first dubbed themselves the "Wolfpack". They later adopted the name for the band, "Wolfgang", upon the suggestion of David Aguirre, one of the guitarists of Razorback.

The song Natutulog kong Mundo (My Sleeping World) is about a man's loneliness. The lyrics of the song is telling us how he is alone being deafen by the silence. He is waiting for his so called friends, waiting for someone just to be with him. He is already under the influence of alcohol and smoke and in the parts of the song questioning him if his friends are really existing. The song is giving us the message that people who had fallen are asking for our help. Asking us to reach our hand and wake them up. Save them from there sleeping world.

Natutulog kong Mundo
(My Sleeping World)

At naglaho ang liwanag sa dilim
walang ingay
ngunit nakakabingi
tumatawag walang sumasagot
nagsisisi may kasalanan ba ako
habang ikaw ay nandito
tulungan niyo ako upang gumising
ang natutulog kong mundo
